From New York on Interstate 80:
West
across New Jersey to the Delaware Water Gap Bridge. Continue
West into Pennsylvania. There are 2 easy ways to get to Jim
Thorpe. #1 is best during the early mornings or late
evenings when there is little traffic. #2 is about
12 miles longer but is mostly highway and so is often the
quickest way.
1. A few miles after the Delaware Water Gap take the
exit for Route 209 South. Follow for about 30 miles and pay
attention to any signs that direct you towards Lehighton or
Jim Thorpe. 209 descends into Jim Thorpe down a long hill
which ends at a stop light. Take a left onto Broadway. 9 West
Broadway is about 200 yeards up and on the left.
2. Follow Route 80 West for about a half hour or so
to Exit 284. This is the exit for Blakeslee and Rte 115. Go
left onto Rte 115 for about 2 or 3 miles. Go right on 903
for 18 miles into Jim Thorpe. Proceed through the town down
a hill to a bridge that crosses the Lehigh River. Proceed
left at the light about 1/4 mile to another light. Go straight
up Broadway about 200 yards to 9 West Broadway on the left.
From Philadelphia (about 1 hour 20 minutes):
Take I-76 West for about 13 miles towards Valley Forge. Merge
onto I-476 N via exit number 331B toward PLYMOUTH MTG (Portions
toll) for about 60 miles. Exit onto Route 209 Soouth towards
Lehighton. Proceed on 209 South about 5 miles following any
signs to Jim Thorpe. Take a left onto Broadway at light. 9
West Broadway is about 200 yards up on the left.
